I get a lot of people that ask me -- "How do you approach models to work with you?" Or how do I find models for the campaigns I'm shooting, and to be honest Instagram is my hub for finding creatives. Whether I'm looking for a model, a stylist, or a makeup artist, it all starts from the initial scan through my feed. Now because I've been working in this industry for awhile, I've been able to connect with some really incredible people. The way to be successful in this business really isn't that complicated. Have a creative eye, be outgoing, have respect for everyone involved & don't be fucking creepy. This goes for males & females.

My way of reaching out to people is very simple, if I'm scanning the gram & I see someone with crazy striking features & style, I'm saying what's up. Even if I'm just dropping a DM to compliment someone, that right there is a virtual handshake & I'm virtually saying - "Hi, my name is Nesha, I'm a stylist/photographer based in LA, you have dope style, we should connect." I don't care if this person has 500 or 5 million followers. At the end of the day, most of that shit is fake & finally Instagram is cracking down on that, flush all the fakes away PLEASE.

With all of that being said, in my Instagram search for new faces I came across this beauty, Vendelali. Feel free to check out more of here on her instagram as well, because you're going to be as obsessed with her as I am. Immediately after seeing some of her black and white photos online, I had this instant double take of Demi Moore in GI Jane from the 90s. I haven't seen a shaved head look that amazing since her, so when I came across V online, I had an instant girl crush. Also, she's super nice, so working with her for a couple hours on a Friday was smooth sailing. I wanted to shout out Arsenic for allowing us to use their beautiful house as a backdrop & don't forget, if you want to make it in this industry, be persistent & don't be afraid to make connections.
